DiMarzio是由具備吉他手、製琴師與音響技師等多重技能於一身的Larry DiMarzio在紐約所創立的拾音器品牌。 創立之前他就經常實驗研發與重組拾音器，1971年，他發展出能改善當時量產吉他音色的方法。 DiMarzio開發出知名革命性的代表拾音器─Super Distortion， 再這之前，拾音器改裝十分繁雜，也無法提供足夠的出力， Super Distortion是拾音器改裝的元祖，破音音色也帶來劃時代的突破， Super Distortion可說是搖滾樂史上最成功的拾音器之一， 而Larry DiMarzio也成為世界最傑出的拾音器設計者之一。 自DiMarzio品牌創立40多年以來，致力於提供專業樂手的完美獨創聲音。 DiMarzio 與吉他製造領導品牌如 Ibanez、Fender、 Jackson、 Ernie Ball Music Man、 Sadowsky、 Gibson等知名製琴廠牌合作。 Designed for John Petrucci’s Music Man JP13™ guitar, the new Illuminator™ Neck and Bridge Models are the next generation in John’s signature pickups with DiMarzio. John says he looks for versatility in his pickups so that he’s able to span a multitude of different sounds within one guitar, going from massive overdrive, very tight, rhythmical and aggressive to “more expressive, dynamic and very liquid” when he plays solos. They’re a bit bold — with more of the clarity and presence that John demands.
